Coaxial cable to alligator clip, how to connect the most reliable?

This article will describe an easy way to make a coaxial cable as a simple ground lead plus center lead. In this case, you can choose connectors such as alligator clips, test grapples, etc. to terminate the leads.
1. Strip the desired length of outer insulation to expose the inner braid. As shown in the picture, we cut a few inches of the sample in the picture.
2. Push the braid back so that it slides back over the center insulation. In the area near the bottom of the braid, use a small screwdriver or pick to poke the conductors apart to create a "small hole".
3. At the hole you just made, bend the coaxial cable into a "U" shape. Use small needle nose pliers to grab the center conductor insulation and pull it out of the hole.
4. Put a short length of heat shrink tubing over the point where the braid and center conductor separate. This helps relieve some of the strain on the cable.

Now that the cable has been processed, the wires can be terminated. This method is useful if you are making a BNC to alligator clip test cable for general use.
